The controversial Dutch space project Mars One is to be listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange via a reverse listing.

Swiss company InFin Innovative Finance has agreed to take over Mars One by issuing €87m worth of new shares in its name. In return InFin will change its name to Mars One Ventures AG, according to a press release.

‘We feel confident that the international brand recognition of Mars One combined with InFin as a listed vehicle will, in time, deliver long term sustainable returns to our existing and future shareholders,’ said Infin CEO Moritz Hunzinger.

Mars One currently raises funds through merchandise, ads on video content, broadcasting rights. The project came under fire last year after a potential Mars astronaut said the company is ripping off its supporters.
