A 70-year-old British man was arrested at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport on Wednesday night for repeatedly saying he was carrying a bomb.

The man was picked up in the departure lounge after he claimed to have a bomb in his luggage, Dutch military police said in a statement on Facebook.

The man’s luggage was searched and he was eventually released with a €250 on the spot fine.

‘Dutch airports are a security risk area and we have a zero tolerance approach to this sort of report,’ the statement said.

A 29-year-old British man was arrested at gunpoint in January after a check-in desk worker reported hearing him talk about a bomb. He was released later without charge.
