Travel show Floortje naar het einde van de wereld won this year’s Gouden Televizier-Ring for best television show of the year. The programme, presented by Floortje Dessing, took 64% of the public vote.

In the show, Dessing travels to meet people who live in some of the most remote places on earth. The destinations have ranged from the Scottish island of Canna to Kahli Cove in Alaska.

In her acceptance speech, Dessing referred to Dutch photographer Jeroen Oerlemans who was shot dead in Libya at the beginning of this month.

‘I would like to pay attention to people who have given so much to their professions that they pay the ultimate price,’ she said. ‘These people also deserve awards.’

Chantal Janzen took the award for best female television presenter for the third time. Humberto Tan took the men’s award.
