A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday evening in connection with a threat to carry out a mass shooting at a school in Zoetermeer in what appears to be a case of cyber bullying.

Earlier, another 14-year-old boy was picked up after a message was placed in his name on an internet forum. The message said the boy was about to shoot seven named pupils at the school because he was being bullied.

That youth was picked up on earlier on Tuesday but later released after police said he was not involved in the threat.

The director of the school has dismissed the threat as a ‘bad joke’ and said the second youth to be picked up is the bully. The school is open as normal on Wednesday.
