The Efteling theme park was never mentioned as a ‘concrete’ target in an ongoing investigation into a 25-year-old alleged jihadi, the public prosecution department said on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier, local paper BN DeStem said the woman, a Muslim convert who was arrested in June, had discussed the Efteling amusement park in the Netherlands with other IS sympathisers as a possible target.

The department confirmed the arrest on Thursday morning but could not confirm if the Efteling had been mentioned as a target. In a statement later in the day it said: ‘The Efteling was never a concrete target in the investigation… there was no threat as BN DeStem suggested’.

The woman is formally suspected of being a member of a terrorist organisation.
