A Dutch woman, thought to be a Muslim convert, has been arrested in Belgrade on terrorism charges, Dutch media reported on Monday, quoting Serbian paper Vecernje Novosti.

The woman was named as 26-year-old Ramona S from Maastricht, who may be five months pregnant. She is being linked to a terrorist group which is active in Belgium and the Netherlands and was on an Interpol wanted list, the news reports said.

The woman is said to have been a recent convert from Christianity to Islam. According to the AD, her husband who has dual Dutch and Turkish nationality was also arrested but later released.

Belgian newspaper De Standaard says Dutch public prosecutors have confirmed the arrest and that they have requested the woman be extradited. Officials declined to give any further information but did say the woman was thought to be on her way to Syria.

According to the Serbian paper, she was picked up during routine checks and may have been hiding out in Serbia for some six months.
