The Porsche 911 is the most popular sports car in the Netherlands among new buyers, according to the vehicle information centre VWE.

The Porsche 911 accounted for almost seven in 10 sports cars sold in the Netherlands in the first six months of this year, a rise of 60% on a year ago, the VWE said. Trailing in second place is the BMW i8. Just 26 were bought over the past year. The Ferrari 488 with 21 sales, completes the top three.

In total, the Dutch bought 432 sports cars in the first six months of this year, a rise of 29% on a year ago.
