EasyJet has cancelled 14 flights.
EasyJet has cancelled 14 flights.

Budget airline easyJet cancelled 14 flights to and from Schiphol on Monday as a result of the latest strike by Dutch pilots.

The walkout between 4am and noon is the fourth strike to hit the airline this summer in an ongoing dispute about pay and conditions. Pilots’ union VNV said the action was inevitable after easyJet failed to come up with an improved offer on sick pay, pensions and shift patterns.

EasyJet said a new offer had been put forward at the weekend and claimed the pilots were ‘striking for the sake of striking’. The UK-based airlineĀ said 80% of its flights to and from Amsterdam on Monday would go ahead as usual. Affected passengers can change their booking at no extra cost or claim a refund.

Some passengers told state broadcaster NOS they had only been told of the cancellations a few hours before they were due to take off.
