Kurdish forces free Dutch woman from IS territory in Syria

A young Dutch woman who claims she was taken against her will to Syria by her husband has been freed by Kurdish fighters in Mosul, Dutch media report on Wednesday.

The woman, named as Laura Angela Hansen, was interviewed on Kurdish television station Kurdistan24 about her story. She claims to be 21 and have two children aged four and one. She converted to Islam several years ago.

The Dutch foreign ministry has confirmed that a Dutch woman has reported to the Dutch embassy in Iraq asking for help but gave no further details.
