More Dutch households now have a tablet than a desktop computer, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.

Last year, 58% of households had at least one tablet, a rise of eight percentage points on 2014. In 2013, just four in 10 households had a tablet and six out of 10 a personal computer. Just half of households now have a pc and 72% a laptop.

The use of smart phones also continues to rise as more older users make the switch, the CBS said. Nearly one in four of the over-65s now uses a smart phone.
