Almere is paying €4m to relocate a restaurant to make way for the Floriade 2022 flower show, reports the Telegraaf.

The municipal chief responsible for the Floriade, Tjeerd Herrema, told the paper that Almere will pay the Atlantis restaurant to buy and fit out a new building, and then move.

It has taken years to negotiate an agreement to move the restaurant from an area where the A6 road will be widened for the mammoth event in 2022. The council has already paid around €600,000 to relocate a diving school, and is still negotiating with a campsite and marina.
