Two men have been arrested in connection with two dead bodies found in a Nijmegen café on Monday afternoon, reports Omroep Gelderland.

The arrestees of 36 and 42 are suspected of murder or manslaughter, and were taken into custody on Monday night.

Two victims, thought to have been brothers, were found at the Café Istanbul, on Malvert 70e street. Local residents say the business was frequented by ‘bad types’ in a neighbourhood known for drug dealing, according to Omroep Gelderland.

Dutch police said that at 1pm on Monday afternoon they were alerted to a dead body found at the café, but when they searched the site they also found a second body.

The victims’ identities have not yet been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
