Infrastructure minister Melanie Schultz has said in an interview with the AD she will not be available to take part in a future cabinet.

Schultz, who is 45 and represents the right-wing Liberal VVD, has served in five different cabinets, three times as a junior minister and twice as minister. ‘It is good to do something different,’ she told the paper.

The general election will be held next spring and Schultz said she had not yet started looking for another employer. ‘If you still have a year to go as minister, you are not busy with other jobs,’ she said.

Schultz left politics in 2006 to join health insurance giant Achmea but returned in 2010 to join prime minister Mark Rutte’s short lived cabinet with the Christian Democrats.
