Dutch police have bought advertising space on social network website Facebook in an effort to track down witnesses to this week’s grizzly murder of a 23-year-old Amsterdam man.

The body of Nabil Amzieb was found in a burned out car in the Amsterdam district of Zuidoost on Tuesday. His head was found on Wednesday outside a water pipe café in the south of the city.

According to the Telegraaf, the police have placed an advert on Facebook which will show up to people who have indicated they live near to one of the four locations in the investigation; three in the capital and one in Utrecht.

The advert urges witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation into the murder.
