American Democrats in the Netherlands back Bernie Sanders
Americans living in the Netherlands who support the Democratic party have backed Bernie Sanders in their own primary, which was held earlier this month.
In total, 621 Americans in the Netherlands voted for Sanders and 290 for Hilary Clinton. The Dutch result is in line with the results at other primaries organised by Democrats Abroad.
In total, 34,570 voters cast their ballots from over 170 countries, a rise of 50% on 2008.
The result of the global ballot gives Sanders nine pledged delegates, while Clinton secures an additional four, the organisation said on its website.
