The Netherlands remains one of the world’s least corrupt countries

hand shakeThe Netherlands remains one of the least corrupt countries in the world, climbing from eighth to joint fifth place in the latest Transparency International index.

Denmark continues to top the list, followed by Finland, Sweden and New Zealand. The Netherlands shares fifth place with Norway, after overtaking Singapore and Switzerland.

The index shows that although corruption is still rife globally, more countries improved their scores in 2015 than declined. ‘Some countries have improved in recent years – Greece, Senegal and the UK are among those that have seen a significant increase in scores since 2012,’ the organisation said.

Bottom of the list are North Korea and Somalia.
