Amsterdam station piano ruined by vandal with baby’s nappy

amsterdam piano stationThe grand piano in Amsterdam’s central station which waiting travellers are free to play has to be replaced because someone smeared it with human excrement.

A filled baby’s nappy was wiped over the keyboard at the weekend, making it impossible to play, railway company NS told local broadcaster AT5.

The NS has made a formal police complaint about the vandalism and security camera footage is being studied for clues.

The piano has been tremendously popular since it was placed there in 2014. There are pianos at various stations across the Netherlands, including Utrecht and Groningen.
