KPN tv and internet outage solved, duped customers to get free viewing

kpn headquartersThe last problems with KPN’s internet and interactive television services were resolved by 14.00 on Saturday, news agency ANP reported.

The problems began on Friday afternoon, leaving some 1.8 million people without television on Friday evening.  The breakdown also had a knock on effect on ABN Amro bank, whose website was also offline for a time.

The company on Saturday apologised to not keeping customers properly informed about the problems. Customers are being given a week’s free viewing and will get a choice of three free films in December in compensation.

The source of the failure has not been made public.
