Armand, known as the Dutch ‘Bob Dylan’, dies

armand dutch bob dylanProtest singer Armand, known as the Dutch Bob Dylan, has died at the age of 69 after a long illness, his record label TopNotch Excelsior said on Friday.

Armand was born Herman George van Loenhout in Eindhoven in 1946. His greatest hit  was ‘Ben ik te min’ (Am I not worthy?), which spent 14 weeks in the charts in 1967.

In total, Armand, who was a keen advocate of cannabis, released 11 solo albums and dozens of singles in his 50-year career.
