A dead baby has been found in a bag hidden in a shed in the Noord-Holland town of Heerhugowaard.

A woman was working in the shed in front of her house when she noticed the bag, which was extremely smelly, the Telegraaf reports. She called a neighbour who noticed hairs sticking out of the bag and called the police.

No further details about the find have been released. Locals told the Telegraaf the baby appeared to be around a year old and to have been dead for some time.

According to the AD, the woman who found the bag had allowed a friend, said to have drug issues, to store some possessions in the shed.
