Singer songwriter Douwe Bob gets Dutch Eurovision ticket

Douwe-BobDouwe Bob is to represent the Netherlands at next year’s European Song Contest in Stockholm.

Douwe Bob won television talent show The Best Singer Songwriter in 2012 and has been picked by public broadcaster AVROTROS to compete in the European contest.

‘I’m writing songs and I now have the opportunity to let them be heard via the biggest stage in Europe,’ the 22-year-old said on Wednesday evening.

Last year, the Netherlands failed to make the song contest final with an Anouk-penned song for Trijntje Oosterhuis. The year before, the Netherlands came second with The Common Linnets.
