Dutch economy doubles expectation in Q2

euro money banknotesThe Dutch economy grew 0.2% in the second quarter, double the 0.1% which was forecast, the central statistics office said on Wednesday.

The economy grew 1.8% in the second quarter compared with a year earlier, slightly more than the 1.6% originally forecast.

Exports were the main motor, but the economy grew across the board, with more investment and increased consumer spending.

The jobs market also picked up, with 29,000 more jobs than in the first quarter of this year.
