Amsterdam’s Van Gogh museum amazes with sunflower labyrinth

125.000 zonnebloemen voor van Gogh.A maze made up of 125,000 sunflowers has been set up on the Museumplein in Amsterdam to celebrate the opening of the new entrance hall to the Van Gogh museum.

The maze covers almost half the square and everyone is welcome to wander through it on Saturday and Sunday from 09.00 to 17.00. The maze also contains three hidden ‘rooms’ with music, fan art and photographs of the building process.

The sunflowers themselves will be given away to the public on Sunday from 16.00 hours.

Van Gogh, who died 125 years ago this July, produced several paintings of a vase of sunflowers of which five are still in existence.
