KLM to cut winter services, fewer flights to Europe, Africa
Dutch airline KLM said on Thursday it is reducing its winter services in an effort to cut costs.
The number of flights to 10 European destinations will be reduced and KLM will operate fewer flights to Africa, Japan and Brazil. The aim is to reduce the number of seats this winter by 500,000.
KLM’s website does not give details about which European destinations will be affected. The winter season runs from October 25 to March 26.
Earlier this week, French newspaper Tribune said 1,000 jobs are at risk at KLM as the Air France-KLM combine seeks to improve efficiency in a highly competitive market.
