The Netherlands has failed to qualify for the final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, ending two years of relative success.

Trijntje Oosterhuis performed the Dutch entry Walk Along in the first semi-final on Tuesday night but did not gather enough points to proceed.

The Netherlands failed to make the final for nine years in a row until Anouk qualified with Birds in 2013. She came ninth with the self-penned song.

Last year, the Netherlands came second with Calm after the Storm by the Common Linnets.
