nepal everestAll Dutch nationals thought to have been in Nepal at the time of the earthquake last month have now been accounted for, foreign minister Bert Koenders has confirmed.

‘This means almost everyone who was worried about friends or family can now breathe easy,’ Koenders said. Around 900 Dutch nationals were in Nepal when the quake hit.

In total, 12 Dutch nationals were injured and one German woman who has lived in the Netherlands for many years was killed.

Around 500 people have already been brought home on a number of special flights. The Dutch emergency and rescue team is due back later on Tuesday.
