PEC Zwolle reach KNVB Cup final for second year in a row

football ballDefending title holders PEC Zwolle have reached the final of the KNVB Cup for the second year in succession.

PEC Zwolle drew 1-1 against FC Twente after 120 minutes but went on to win on penalties.

PEC are currently sixth in the Eredivisie and the highest ranked club left in the cup competition.

The other semi-final takes place on Wednesday night between FC Groningen, 11th in the league, and Excelsior from Rotterdam who are currently 14th out of 18.

The winner of the KNVB Cup automatically qualifies for the Europa League.
