‘Killer cocaine’ dealer turns himself in to police: Telegraaf

COCAINE ALERT IN AMSTERDAMA man suspected of selling white heroin as cocaine to dozens of tourists in Amsterdam has reported to the police, the Telegraaf says on Tuesday.

The man apparently turned himself in on Saturday, not long after photographs of security footage were shown on television, the paper says.

At least three British tourists died after taking heroin which they thought was cocaine and some 20 tourists were hospitalised. Amsterdam city council took to using large matrix boards in popular parts of the city to warn tourists of the risks.

The man’s lawyer Gerald Roethof told the Telegraaf the dealer did not know he was selling white heroin instead of cocaine and that he had tried to track down the person who sold the drugs to him before reporting to the police.

News agency ANP said it has not yet been confirmed if the man is the dealer police were trying to trace.
