More MH17 victims return to the Netherlands

February 5, 2015

AANKOMST MH17 SLACHTOFFERS HILVERSUMA Dutch military transport plane will land in the Netherlands on Saturday carrying the remains of victims of the Malaysian Airlines MH17 crash.

It is the eighth time the solemn ceremony at Eindhoven airport will have been held. Defence minister Jeanine Hennis and home affairs minister Ronald Plasterk will be in attendance, together with family and friends of the deceased.

The remains will then travel in slow procession to Hilversum where they will be identified by forensic experts.

Just three of the 298 people on board the plane when it was shot down over eastern Ukraine last July have yet to be identified.

On Thursday night MPs will debate the downing of MH17 and what ministers knew about the risks of flying over eastern Ukraine with fighting raging on the ground below.
