Tips flood in over John de Mol blackmailer ordering cakes

Almost 100 people have rung the police with tips after a television crime show broadcast a drawing of a man said to be connected to threats against tv mogul John de Mol.

The man, who has thinning grey hair and glasses, ordered a box of cakes at a local bakery to be delivered to De Mol’s home in Blaricum earlier this month. The box contained a threatening letter.

De Mol and his sister, television presenter Linda de Mol, have been threatened and blackmailed since last October. The blackmailer is demanding a large sum of money or says Linda, her children or other relatives will be hurt.

Several of the callers to television show Opsporing Verzocht gave the same name, police said after the broadcast. Police could not say if he is one of the blackmailers or an unwitting victim.
