Search on for missing Dutch hikers Nepal

A team of five British hikers is hoping to find signs of life of three Dutch hikers who have been missing for three days after a snowstorm hit Nepal, the Telegraaf reports on Thursday.

The team are taking the same route as the three missing women who, according to the trekking organisation’s manager, would not have reached the worst hit site until two days after the storm.

‘I think they probably waited and are now making their way back. We expect to have some news of them either later today or tomorrow morning,’ the paper quotes him as saying.

Rescue helicopter pilots have not reported any sightings of the Dutch women in the stricken area.

At least 29 people of different nationalities lost their lives during the snow storm in the Annapurna region of Nepal which is popular with climbers and hikers. Some 70 people are still missing.
