Dutchman sentenced to 25 years in jail for cocaine smuggling

A British court has sentenced an 68-year old Dutch national to 25 years in prison for smuggling cocaine, broadcaster NOS reports.

Johnny Kock was arrested in September after German customs discovered cocaine buried in a consigment of soap powder.

Dutch police and the British justice department decided to allow the passage of 107 kilos of cocaine and arrested Kock as he picked up the boxes, NOS writes.

Kock, who lives in Liverpool, stated he though the boxes contained cannabis but according to the judge Kock had been responsible for flooding the streets of Britain with cocaine.
