16-year-old boy charged over fatal school stabbing

A 16-year-old youth will appear in court on Monday charged with stabbing a 15-year-old boy to death at a vocational training college in Voorburg, close to The Hague.

The incident took place at the Corbulo College on Friday afternoon. The victim was seen running down a corridor in the school with blood pouring from a neck wound, RTL news reported. He died later in hospital.

According to the Telegraaf, the suspect is a 16-year-old named as Anthony, described as an outsider who had been bullied for years.

The victim, named by the paper as Wesley, was reported to be one of the bullies, although his friends dispute this, the Telegraaf said.

The school has opened a hotline for pupils and parents and will hold an information evening at the school on Monday.

A second 16-year-old, who may have given the suspect the knife, was arrested on Sunday, police said.
