Two die, two still missing in Diemen gas explosion

The search for two people still missing after Thursday’s explosion at a block of flats in the Amsterdam suburb of Diemen will continue on Friday, officials said.

Two people died and 15 were injured in the blast, though to have been caused by a gas leak following renovation work.

All 200 people who lived in the building were evacuated and had to spend the night elsewhere.

The search for two people still missing was called off on Thursday night. The two bodies of the two people who died also remain in the building because it was not safe enough to remove them.
