Sunday’s classic match between arch rivals Ajax and Feyenoord ended in a 0-1 win for the Amsterdammers after Ricardo van Rhijn scored from a free kick.

But commentators were united after the game that the Rotterdammers were the better side and Ajax were lucky to take the three points.

‘Feyenoord were better than us in every way,’ said Ajax coach Frank de Boer.

Eredivisie leader PSV Eindhoven had a simple 4-0 victory over SC Cambur of Leeuwarden, who were down to 10 men in the second half.

PEC Zwolle lost 1-0 after Markus Henriksen scored a late goal for AZ Alkmaar, but still hold joint second place with Ajax. FC Twente beat Heracles 4-1, keeping the Almelo side firmly at the bottom with zero points after six matches.

On Saturday, Heerenveen made it five games without defeat as they claimed a 1-1 draw away at Vitesse Arnhem, while FC Dordrecht drew at Excelsior. ADO Den Haag and Go Ahead Eagles also drew 1-1.
