Dutch actress wins comedy award at American festival
Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks has won the prize for best comedy performance in a film at the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.
Hoeks won for her role in the film Bro’s Before Ho’s in which she played the love interest who upsets the life of two brothers who have made a pact never to start a relationship because it would be too constricting.
It is the third time writers and directors Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil have won a prize for one of their films at the Fantastic Fest.
They won best direction of a comedy for New Kids Turbo in 2010 and best comedy for New Kids Nitro in 2011.
