Shell sells gas fields for $2.1bn and shale gas land
Oil giant Shell on Thursday announced the sale of two gas fields in the US in return for a total $2.1bn and shale gas land.
The company is selling its Pinedale gas field in Wyoming to Ultra Petroleum for $925m and will also receive shale gas land in Pennsylvania as part of the deal.
Its Haynesville gas field in Louisiana is being bought by Vine Oil & Gas and investment company Blackstone for $1.2bn.
The sales form part of the company’s plan to sell off assets to the value of $15bn this year and next.
