Malaysian plane from Schiphol reported crashed in Ukraine

A Malaysian Airlines plane which was flying from Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport to Kuala Lumpar is reported to have crashed over Ukraine.

According to a report by Russia’s Interfax news agency, the aircraft came down not far from Donetsk, some 50 kilometres from the border with Russia.

The Boeing 777 was carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew, Dutch media report.

According to unconfirmed reports quoted by Interfax, the plane may have been shot down.
