Dutch win final friendly ahead of football World Cup

The Dutch national football team won its final friendly before the World Cup in Brazil, beating Wales 2-0 in the Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday evening.

However, coach Louis van Gaal was not satisfied with his team’s performance. ‘We gave away the ball too much,’ he said after the match.

Another worry is that Robin van Persie was injured and was kept off the field in the second half. Medics said the injury was slight and the striker missed the second half as a precaution.

The match was the last friendly before the Dutch meet title holder Spain in the group rounds of the World Cup on June 13.
