Zwolle is bicycle city of the year
The Dutch cyclists union Fietsersbond has named Zwolle the Dutch bicycle city of the year.
‘The city council has been busy encouraging cycling for years and is not afraid to experiment,’ deputy director Saskia Kluit is quoted as saying by the NRC.
The city has high-quality cycling infrastructure, including tunnels, but also has an eye for small improvements, Kluit said.
Veenendaal, Groningen, Houten and Den Bosch were the previous winners.
