Shooting stars expected on Friday night

Skywatchers should be able to see an impressive meteor shower on Friday night, if the weather holds up, Nos television reports.

Between midnight and 04.00 hours, astronomy research group NOVA expects between 20 and 75 shooting stars an hour. The best time to watch will be 02.45, close to the Pole Star.

Although the meteor shower will continue for several hours, it will not be visible during daylight hours. The weather forecast for Friday evening is a mixture of dry spells and rain.
