Pharrell Williams’ Happy breaks Dutch hit list record
Pharrell Williams’ global hit Happy has become the longest running entry in the Dutch hit lists.
Happy has been in the Dutch Top 40 for 42 weeks, outstripping Corry Konings’ hit Huilen is voor jou te laat (it is too late for you to cry) which was in the charts for 41 weeks in 1971.
Corry Konings said she had ‘not cried’ about her record being broken, news agency ANP reports. ‘It is a nice song… it makes everyone happy and that is the great thing about it,’ she said.
