The Amsterdam gangland figure shot dead in Amstelveen earlier this month was riddled with more than 80 bullets, the Parool reports at the weekend.

Gwenette Martha was unarmed when he was shot dead on the Amsterdamseweg by at least three men who drove off in a black BMW. The Parool says forensic experts are still examining casings found at the scene for fingerprints and dna.

Martha was a prominent figure in Amsterdam’s underworld and was suspected of involvement in a number of high profile murders.
