Dutch duo qualify for Eurovision Song Contest final

The Dutch entry for the European Song Festival qualified for Saturday’s finals in Tuesday night’s first heat in Copenhagen.

The song Calm After The Storm, performed by the duo The Common Linnets – made up of country singer Ilse de Lange and Dutch Motown signing Waylon – competed against 16 other countries. The top 10 in each heat qualify for the final on May 10.

It is the second time in a row that the Netherlands has qualified for the final after years of drawing a blank. Last year Anouk reached the final with Birds.

Calm After The Storm is a blue grass country number performed by the duo on guitars in an intimate setting.
