New King’s Day flag unveiled

A flag-making company in Dokkum has developed a new flag to celebrate the first ever King’s Day this year.

King’s Day will be celebrated on April 26 this year, rather than the king’s birthday on April 27 because that falls on a Sunday.

‘An historic event merits a special flag,’ Robert-Jan Hageman, director of the Dokkumer Vlaggen Centrale, told the Telegraaf. The flag features the silhouette of king Willem-Alexander in orange and costs €15.
