Key Eredivisie Ajax and Feyenoord matches synchronised

Two key matches in the fight for the Dutch Eredivisie league title will take place at the same time on Sunday to ensure fair play, the Dutch football association said on Monday.

The Ajax-ADO Den Haag match scheduled for 12.30 on Sunday has been delayed until 16.30 to coincide with the PSV-Feyenoord match.

With three matches to go, Ajax are still six points clear of Feyenoord who are four points clear of league number three FC Twente.

If Ajax beats ADO Den Haag and Feyenoord fails to beat PSV Eindhoven, the Amsterdammers will have won their fourth league title in a row.

The decision to synchronise the matches also means Ajax fans will know immediately if they can celebrate the title or not at Amsterdam’s Arena stadium.
