IMF more positive about Dutch economy

The International Monetary Fund is more positive about the Dutch economy, forecasting growth of 0.8% for this year and 1.6% for 2015.

The figures are contained in the IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook, published on Tuesday and quoted by news agency Novum.

The outlook for the Netherlands is less somber than in November 2013 when the forecast was for growth of 0.3%.

According to Maarten Schinkel in the NRC, the adjusted figures are mainly a result of the last quarter of 2013 when the Dutch economy grew by 0.9% compared with the third quarter.

The latest IMF forecast is in line with that of the government’s macro-economic planning agency CPB.
