Dutch inflation falls to four-year low

The Dutch rate of inflation fell to 0.8% in March, its lowest level for four years, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.

In February, the inflation rate was 1.1%. Calculated according to harmonised EU methods, the Dutch rate is even lower at 0.1%, below the eurozone average of 0.5%.

The drop in inflation is due to the knock-on effect of higher tobacco prices, cheaper passports and clothing, the CBS said.
