Ajax win fourth league title in a row with 1-1 draw against Heracles

Amsterdam football club Ajax clinched their fourth Dutch league title in a row on Sunday with a 1-1 draw against Heracles of Almelo.

The draw also gives coach Frank de Boer his fourth Eredivsie title with the Amsterdammers. It is the 33rd time Ajax have taken the league title.

With one match still to go this season, Ajax have a four point lead over Feyenoord of Rotterdam, who beat SC Cambur 5-1, to seal second place.

The second position means Feyenoord will take part in the preliminary rounds of the Champion’s League competition next season.

Ajax fans will celebrate the win at the Arena stadium later on Sunday. Tens of thousands are expected to turn up to welcome the players.
