Ajax must wait to celebrate Eredivise title as Feyenoord wins

Amsterdam football club Ajax were held off from celebrating their fourth league title win in a row on Sunday after nearest rival Feyenoord beat PSV Eindhoven 0-2.

Ajax beat ADO Den Haag 3-2, meaning there are still six points between the Amsterdammers and Feyenoord, with two matches to play.

Amsterdam had been geared up to celebrate an Ajax Eredivisie victory and there were dozens of arrests in disturbances with fans.

Ajax will meet fifth from bottom Almelo on April 27, while Feyenoord take on Cambuur of Leeuwarden, who are 10th.

Meanwhile, Roda JC’s relegation from the Eredivisie was confirmed after they lost 3-0 to FC Twente. NEC of Nijmegen and RKC Waalwijk are also in the relegation zone.
